Use the sun to generate your potable hot water
Sunshine can be used to generate most of your hot water in your residence or business. In a solar hot water system, sunlight is absorbed by a solar collector that is mounted either on a south facing roof or on the ground. The heat from the solar collector is then transferred to a storage tank to store the solar energy until it is needed.
Typically, a family of four use about 80 gallons of hot water per day. and will require a system with two collector panels and a 80 gallon storage tank.
Solar hot water systems can qualify for both Federal tax credits and Focus on Energy cash back awards. For more information, please see out Tax Credits section.
